exhaust muffler delete

I deleted the muffler on my 07 mcs. I still have the stock resonator and cat. I was wondering if anyone else has done this? Its surprisingly quiet. Does this exhaust unbolt in the middle? Any companies offer from the stock downpipe to the middle of the exhaust so I can delete the other parts? I was hoping for a little louder and deeper. Thanks

I am in the process of installing exhaust with 2nd cat delete and muffler delete on my R56, I can let you know how loud it is! Resonator is still there. Anyone else with this setup that can advise?

My 07 MCS has a custom stainless steel straight pipe after the stock cat. The original owner had it installed when the car was brand new. It was fabbed by some muffler shop with a flange that mates to the flange on the stock cat converter. It probably saves at least 20 lbs as there is no resonator and no muffler on mine. It sounds glorious. Deep, but not obnoxiously loud. The turbo keeps everything surprisingly quiet. It's loudest only initially upon cold startup.

I removed the 2nd cat and resonator from my car and i absolutely love the sound. it's not too loud in my opinion. it drones a little at about 77-79 mph on the highway but anywhere else in the powerband it sounds amazing. people always ask me what exhaust i'm running. little do they know it's mostly stock lol

I Installed down-pipe back exhaust without the 2nd cat or muffler (only resonator) and it sounds great! Exactly the sound I was looking for. It has a very nice bark. Sounds like an older British sports car!

Testing out my GoPro for the 1st time. Nothing exciting but if you turn up the sound it should give you a good idea:

I'm a big fan of my 07MCS with no muffler. Exhaust is otherwise stock, just fabbed up a straight pipe/tip/hangers and cut the stock muffler off and welded on my new setup.

The thing to keep in mind is that turbo. In itself, it lends a decent tone and bit of sound control to the exhaust. On an N/A car, if you cut the muffler off, I'd tell you it sounds horrible and loud and obnoxious.

That's not to say you can't make a turbo car too loud, but only removing the muffler and keeping the rest provided a perfect tone for me. Not too loud, idles super quiet, and is just all around perect for the daily driver that you don't want to be terribly annoying.
