The only JCW bit I envy

I don't envy the extra power.

I don't envy the red stitching inside.

I don't envy the front or rear bodykit stuff.

There is only one part of the JCW that I look at and thing, man, I wish I had that.

It's that...I don't know what to call it. The little vent thing in front of the rear wheels.

This:

That thing is awesome. Wish I had one. Or two, rather.

While it's not my favorite bit on the JCW kit, i noticed that the new 2013 clubman JCW kit does away with those vents. Noticed this while wandering around at the dealership.

It's the side skirt of the bodykit. You can buy it separately from the full bodykit.

I don't care for it myself because it's designed to look like a vent/scoop, but it's non-functional and therefore I see it as fake. I would have liked it designed differently.

That is definietly a cool look, but I am more of a function over form type of guy, so my funds go towards performance first then looks

Yeah, though $800 before paint and install is a bit steep for what I'd be getting.

I think that's a totally defensible position. But I still dig the look.

Rob, as you know, I'm all about function, hence my earlier post. Why add on weight and drag when it gets you nothing?

I will have to come on down soon for sure! Possibly next year though to head on down to South Beach. I'll keep you posted!

Hmmmm..... a non functional 'bolt-on' that imitates what should be functional....

Wasn't there a discussion on something similar recently in the Coupe section?

I like those vent things, wish they were on the R53 aero kit.

Only if you use that special wax on them.

Really. It's just a tiny visual detail that I think looks great. No accounting for tastes, eh?

Yeah, why did you add the stripes and the plasti-dip on your chrome? It only adds weight (ounces, but it's weight) and doesn't make the car faster....

(...as he stirs the pot with an evil grin on his face...)

That reminds me: I also like the chrome strip on the bumper. Not the rest of the external chrome line (though it was much worse back when it came with the chrome hood scoop), but just that one bit.
