Question How do you drive your Coupe? Sport mode? DSC off? DSC and DTC off?

Just thought i'd do a poll on how you drive your coupe settings-wise?

I have 2013 Cooper S Coupe w/Auto transmission and DTC

My latest preference of driving is:

DSC and DTC off.
Manual Mode w/Sport mode on.

Throttle response is even better w/DSC and DTC off along w/sport mode. plus it feels like a fun paddle shifter too. secretly regret not getting the 6speed manual but those times in stop and go traffic swings me back.

I expect I'll be driving mostly in sport w/auto on unless I'm on the highway and need 6th.

I've never regretted my last 2 paddle-shifted MINIs and I doubt I'll regret my R58 either. The only thing I wish is that BMW would switch to the same paddle setup that the rest of the world uses - right paddle goes up, left paddle goes down.

agreed!!! had no idea when i took the auto out for a test drive and kept downshifting vs upshifting w/the right paddle.

so far i am def not missing my manual since i can basically have it w/manual mode

With my roadster auto, I use the floor shifter most of the time, whichesns it is in the Sport mode, and I usually turn off the DSC, and yes, I notice a difference in the shifting. Hate the steering whel shifters, would just as soon take them off. What a waist.

There is no reason to turn off stability control while driving on the street. If its kicking in other than traction control then the car is being pushed too far on the street. Turn it off on the track or autocross where you can truky5 have fun safely.

Update:

Still loving Manual Mode even more and Sport mode. Usually leave DSC on unless i'm accelerating over bumpy terrain.. as for no reason to turn off DSC, not like we are going crazy on the streets.. better throttle response by far and plus you still get the E-LSD kicking in for when you do need the grip..

New....will try?

Missing out?

2013 S Coupe
Most drive automatic driving (regular) mode. Have used sport mode on slower roads and love to hear the popping noise.

Have not touched the other button yet DSC/DTC? Nor tried the paddle shifts as they look scary?

Car has 1,000 miles and gas mileage at 32/33 mpg.

Coupe is loaded, just about the only thing I left off was Sport Suspension.

Love the car.

Black with Silver Stripes and Clear Bra.

latest driving trend/settings:

Manual mode (love how i can fully control shift points up until redline), Sport mode on, DSC Normal. If you take off DSC (by holding the DSC button for 3-5 seconds, hud will show DSC off) you can spin the tires when taking off and also will not have your mini cut gas on bumps when accelerating fast. ie, basically turns your mini into a paddle shifting gokart.

I am still breaking my 2014 Coupe S in. I still use sport mode occasionally. I am practicing some with the paddle shifters. By the time I get to 1200 miles I will have the feel down. A huge step up from my 2005 Cooper Hardtop. The first time I had it in sport, I thought something happened because of the popping.

I've actually have been driving with my traction control on for almost two weeks now to test Lenny's opinion(guy from RENNtech) about torque steer without it.

Where did you get the FES auto sport plus? Sounds like something I need. Feel like I am starting a plane each time lol.
