Looking for non-RF 17" suggestions

Getting to the point where its time to take off my Blizzaks and looking not to put back my stock summer Pirelli RF tires. Any suggestions for quiet and better ride 225/50 x17? I really didn't want to go the all-season route but I remember seeing someone a while back say they went with GY Eagles and loved them. I can no longer find that thread.

the conti extremecontact dw is the highest rated summer tire on tirerack.com in that size

if you go 225/45 then the michelin pilot super sport is the highest rated

I'm going to replace my stock Continentals this summer. But there aren't many options for my 205/55-17's. So I'm looking at 215/55-17's for more tire options.

I'll probably get either:
  • Continental ExtremeContact DWS
  • Continental PureContact with EcoPlus

I went with the 215/55-17 Conti DWS. They look great in the wheel well. Excellent tire, handling, ride etc. My sweet spot for pressure is 36 front, 34 rear. I have almost 12K miles so far, and not showing too much wear yet. I will check tread depth in a month or two when I rotate (2nd rotation). 2011 CMS FWD.

I replaced my 17" Michelin Pe2 exaltos (summer only) with 17" Michelin Pilot AS+ (ultra high performance all (really 3) season) tires and like them very much. That said, I run Blizzaks and do not track my car. The ride is better and so should be the wear.

Anybody have any thoughts on Goodyear Eagle GT or Goodyear Eagle F1. They both come in 205/55 and 225/50?
