GPS Mount: Craven Flxie or Proclip?

Looking to mount my Garmin 2555lmt somewhere between the Tach and Speedo. Anyone have recommendations of one over the other?

Thanks in advance!

Just ordered my ProClip. I should get it on Saturday and I'll definitely let you know what I think. I've heard nothing but good things about it. Better be great for what you pay.

I don't know what is Craven Flxie... but my proclips are very good in all my other cars that I had... and one time my proclip vent mount broke due to me taking it off and on all the time and they just sent me a new one over at no charge even I used it more than 3 years

+1 for proclip

I have the pro clip and the iphone mount and it is one of the best choice for me. I tried them all and the pro clip location on the right hand side of the speedometer is great for me.

Ummm...The Craven Fixie is a pretty great product. Plus, it is made just for your MINI, by some American folks who care about your business. Our one piece solution even costs less, just sayin'.

The Craven attachment mechanism is great. I have the Smartphone Mount Pro, which attaches behind the tach in the same way - it's really easy to install, and very stable.

No experience with Craven Fixie. I have Proclip mount for my iPhone and it works great for me.

Probably can't go wrong with either one.

seamlessness in integrating/hiding the powercord is key for me too. Once the Garmin is delivered this week I'll have to decide!

I got a Fixie a couple of weeks ago. I am impressed. I use it for my iphone. Perfect position in my opinion.

As a side note, does anyone have a simple way (or diagram) of how to hide/feed the Garmin charging cable down the steering wheel shaft to the center console?

I have the smartphone mount from Craven Speed and love it. No experience with proclip, but after meeting and hanging out with the guys from Craven I was willing to pony up the dollars for a quality product from quality people.

Using the adjustable holder with swivel...expensive setup for a simple item to hold the phone, but no problems in 8+ months.

I see you already made your choice, but I'll add my two cents for the archives. I initially got the fixie, and had to switch to proclip. the fixie is a nice unique design, but it tended to loosen up, and when I switched phones to the galaxy 3 I had a hard time fitting it in the mount between the vents and tach (without the holder impacting the volume or power button), and the loosening became worse.

I had the proclip in a previous car and liked it. I've been satisfied with my new one for the mini as well. It is expensive, but a well designed product. I like that at least part of it is interchangeable if you get a new device.

That said, I think the ball garmin mount might be better than the generic smart phone scissor mount available in the fixie for us non iphone users.

Got my ProClip on Saturday, just installed it today. Looks and functions perfectly! Definitely worth every penny. Pictures to come.

Just got mine too, just updating the latest maps on my Garmin. Does anyone know how to hide the charging cable down the steering column?

Pics yet with center Proclip mount?

Did you happen to take any pictures of your set up yet? I want to order the centermount Proclip but I'd like to see how far it sticks out.

thanks!

If anyone has the Proclip mount on the speedometer, can they post some pics for me? I'm trying to get an idea of the profile of the mount with the iphone holder. I'm wondering how far it sticks out and if it blocks much of the view of the speedometer, etc. thanks!

I have Pro clip for iPhone 5 , but it's installed on the right side of the speedometer , I love it. It works great and it's not bulky, mine swivels. It's easily accessible. I was worried about it being to tight on the left.
