At my last service, the dealer replaced something related to cooling, and since the fan that cools the turbo, after a stop, never turns on, even after hard driving. Any thoughts?

The recall deals with the thermostat, your car thought it was overheating, now it doesn't...hints it not coming on

No disrespect intended, but isn't the fan supposed to come on after shut down to cool the turbo to prevent coking? I am not talking about the engine overheating. Or did you think that coking would not be a potential longterm problem with a small, high horsepower engine?

The fan doesn't cool the turbo, the auxiliary pump does. Its a small pump which circulates oil (I think). It was recalled on many Ss because it had a tendecy to burst into flame.

The recall was for the aux water pump that cools the turbo after shutdown. It circulates water... The fan doesn't do anything for the turbo.

My fan will sometimes run after shutdown and sometimes it doesn't, it all depends on how hot the engine coolant is at shutdown.

Just curious, does your fan run when you turn on your A/C?

Ooo... you guys might be interested in this post on NAM:-

robbo mcs posted a really comprehensive and IMO brilliant explanation.

I had an issue with my '07 R56 last summer.

My overheat light kept switching on hot days or on drives where I was not on the highway. As it turns out, it was a simple issue of the fuse for the cooling fan had blown. Replaced the fuse and havent had an issue since.

I picked up my '12 MCS just about a year ago. When stopped, the cooling fan would run 30-120 seconds nearly always. Subsequently, much quieter, you'd hear the turbo cooling water pump running for some time after that. All normal, I assumed, though I read posts from other owners who were alarmed their cooling fans were coming on, their former one didn't do that, the dealer said it was normal, etc.

In November '12 I had my first dealer maintenance visit; while there, they replaced a temp sensor as part of a campaign/TSB/program/something. I'd had no issues, but whatever. Since then, the cooling fan only comes on occasionally. The turbo water pump still runs for a while after shutdown, just fine.
