MINI Connected plug in no longer working since updating to iPhone ver. 6.1.2
Just updated both MINI connected App to version 2.4.0, and the iPhone app to version 6.1.2, and the MINI Connected plug in is no longer recognized.
It doesn't even recognize that a plug in is available.
Any one else have this problem??

So what do we do now?
It won't work with an iPhone 5, no video out on the cable
Here's the latest message from MINI:
Thanks for writing MINI about iPhone iOS 6 software compatibility with our vehicles.
We are continuing to work closely with Apple on the validation of the iOS 6 software for MINI vehicles and will be able to announce relevant developments in the future. Unfortunately, Apple did not distribute the software earlier to automobile manufacturers than to the general public, so we will address any issues of concern after our evaluation of it. We anticipate app compatibility will continue as will the ability to access one’s song library using the MINI controls and screen. The specific feature, Plug-in, which works through MINI Connected to replicate the look of the iPhone interface, will not be available at launch. The full scope of compatibility between the iOS 6 software and MINI vehicles will be known once the validation process is completed, and we appreciate your patience as we work through the process.

I'm going to try to figure out how to downgrade to an earlier version today.
iPhone 5, and Plug-in
In the Mini Connected FAQ's and a form letter email from Mini, The plug-in will not work with the iphone 5 because the lightning connector does not support video out and video out is required for the plug in to work. I wish i kept my 4s
That's a bummer. That's why I kept my 4s. I also have the snap in adapter for it.
ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I keep getting the runaround from my dealer saying it's my phones issue or the apps issue. I don't even think they are aware of this. So frustrated with the lack of communication from Mini to my dealer or it's just the lack of knowledge of my dealer! Either way, this sucks when the customer has to troubleshoot the problem.
I'm pretty pissed right now. I used to pull up my playlists on the screen etc... And nothing works now.

My car isn't even a week old yet and not one day has gone by that I haven't experienced an issue. I even traded phones with my son because my dealer said the problem was the connection slot of my phone and it wasn't getting the right connection. But lo and behold, installing the app on my son's phone worked for the first time and then once my car was turned off, 2 hours later I got in and the same problem happened. My MA said to reinstall the app because the app can get corrupted. I thought that odd since I had JUST installed it last night on the new phone but ok.....I reinstalled the app and everything works fine again. But I guarantee you, It won't work this afternoon when I go for another drive. I'm not about to have to remember to constantly reinstall the app every time I want to get in my car.
So frustrated I can't even see straight.................I love my Mini, so fun to drive. My last Mini didn't have any technology on it and I never had a problem. This time, doesn't seem like my dealer really understands the nuts & bolts of the technology and for that fact neither does MINI USA.
Ok, off my soapbox for now

So what exactly is the problem?
I have IOS 6.1.2 and an iPhone5, when I launch the app on my phone and connect my phone to the car (via the lightning to 30 pin adapter to MINI Y cable) Connected sees the phone and interacts with it.
Plugin doesn't work - but Plugin hasn't worked with the iPhone5 ever and probably won't until MINI comes out with a Thunderbolt Y cable.
My old iPhone4 running IOS 6.1.2 - plugin works just fine in addition to all the other Connected options...

Then, the next time you launch connected, you will go through a warning screen informing you that Bluetooth audio is being removed because the two can not work together.
So frustrating --- no real way to get in your car and go. One way or another you must either plug in, launch the Connected app, wait for the plugin thing to load and use Connected (if Connected happens to work that day) or reconfig part of your phone to listen through bluetooth.
I am seriously thinking of doing it the old school way and only pluggin in my auxillary cable and listening to my music while controlling it through my phone. This is what i did in my 2006 Mini. I also didn't pay an arm and a leg for Connected in my 2006 Mini. So I didn't care. Now, I care! What I was sold is not what I got - not even in the slightest!!!!!
I really cannot believe with all the technology out there, this is how Connected works. What a big waste of $$$$$$$$

I reinstalled the app. Everything (so far) is working. I did find out (maybe I am the last to know) but......If you launch Mini Connected and the next time you get in your vehicle and don't feel like plugging in your phone but would rather listen to your music vis bluetooth, you must go back into your phone settings and add BACK IN the audio portion so that you can then listen through bluetooth. Then, the next time you launch connected, you will go through a warning screen informing you that Bluetooth audio is being removed because the two can not work together.

It does show up as being connected to the USB but if I used the Connected app the last time i turned everything on, the Audio checkbox will have been unchecked and therefore, I have to go back into the config settings are recheck the audio box so that the phone appears in the radio portion as a device.
Weird hung?!?!
