Anyone heard this noise? R56 Heater Buzz

Hey guys,

I am curious to know if anyone has heard this little buzz sound I will describe.

Here's what I know:
-Sounds like electrical noise if that makes sense, little 'zz zz' buzzes
-No real pattern, can hear a little 'zz' every few seconds or so
-DOES NOT sound like clicking, or rhythmic like a fan
-Sound only when heater is on, not A/C or regular air
-Sound still happens with radio switched off
-Pretty soft sound, i.e. cannot hear when driving or when radio is on low(for volume comparison)
-Seems to come from right side of car, speaker maybe?

I can't seem to remember if this sound has always been there, or just came about, or what. Has anyone noticed a similar sound under the above circumstances? Is it normal operating noise? Just curious, I'd appreciate the response! Thanks!

Is it like a frequency noise like when your cell phone is close to the radio?

My car makes the same sound. Do you have the automatic climate controls? I have that option in my car and I have also noticed the noise coming from the right side near/behind the glove box or close to the passenger door. Not 100% certain, but it leads me to believe that it has something to do with the automatic temperature adjustment. I only hear it shortly after I turn it on and then move the switch to adjust the temperature. I am going to look into the schematics and see what I find. I'm sure it has to deal with the loads, resistors and actual heating element rather than equipment malfunction.

I think we're talking about the same noise, and yes I have the auto controls. And yes the noise mostly appears when I turn the heat up on the controls. I stuck my head down in the passenger footboard and determined it's coming from what looks to be heater-related equipment on the right side of the center stack. I have another 2 years and 50K miles on my extended warranty so I'm not too worried about it. Mostly just curious to know if anyone had heard the same thing.

I most definitely hear that same sound when my auto climate control is activated! Hopefully it is part of how it functions as supposed to a defect.

The heater fan is on the other side, are you hearing it below or around the cabin air filter?

Other then that it could be the adjustment of the auto climate control small actuators that adjusts constantly.

I have the auto climate, and I hear this noise, especially when you change the temperature or when you switch where the air/heat is coming out of.

@ECSTuning - Yes what you said sounds correct. It's on the right side of the center stack.

Seems to be a non-issue if all of you guys hear it too. For example this morning on my 30 minute commute I didn't notice it once(radio was on, as was the heat). There's a good chance I just didn't notice the last couple winters since my radio is always on.

I have the same buzzing sound when I turn on the heat and I don not have the climate control package.
