Need detailed pics of '13 secret compartment door!
Hello everyone,
Anyone with a left hand drive 2013 Cooper Hardtop, could you do me a huge favor and take some pics of the secret compartment door for me?
I would love to see pics of it open, the lower edge most importantly and if possible (although would be tough) a pic of the back side of the door. And maybe a side view of it open from the right side?
I am trying to sort out some trim I just purchased since I have two versions of the compartment door and wonder which one actually fits the 2013 HT.
Many many thanks to anyone who can help!
Best, LG

Thank you for responding! I need pics of the lower edge of the secret compartment door (you know the one above the glove box). A pic of it open so I can see the lower edge straight on, and then maybe one from the right side of it so I can see the curvature of the trim.
Thank you if you can help I would be so grateful!

OMG Love you 6000pounds!
Thank you so much! Ok, so my last question is, can you take a look at these pics and tell me which one you think you have? I am pretty sure you have the piece on the bottom, correct?
Thanks so much!

That's what I thought. The one on top has an extra black plastic lip that protrudes beyond the edge of where the black and trim pieces meet. Plus that one does not have the two screws that I think I saw on yours on the video.
You see two screws right?
Thanks again.

yea you can see the two screws in the first few seconds of the clip
I've replaced the panel on my R56 LCI (ie same as 2013 model) - with the red JCW ones
.
There are two parts for the passenger side panel, one for MINIs with the "secret compartment" and one for MINIs without.
The compartment was for the 6-stacker for the CD player they used to offer. If you didn't have the 6-stacker, you just got a blank, non-opening panel - unless you ordered the "storage" option which gave you the same opening panel as the stacker, but with the secret storage compartment inside. I gather MINI in USA (same as in Australia) orders all MINIs with the storage option.
If you go onto realoem.com you can search for the two different part numbers to work out which is the right one. OR it's only 3 screws, from what I remember, to replace it - really easy - so you could just take off the current one and see which new one matches it.
