Coolant on alternator

Hey guys and gals. I'm changing the resistor on my 2004 S. While taking the fan assembly out I disconnected the upper radiator hose. Needless to say some coolant got on the alternator.

Is this something I should be concerned about? The battery is disconnected and I don't plan on starting the car until tomorrow. I wiped everything off but coolant did get into the openings of the alternator.

Thanks for the help!!

Not much you can do about it...it SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED...a piece of aluminum foil works good...too late now...just rinse it off, most likly ok.

Totally! As soon as I disconnected the house I realized what had happened, I was bummed! So just a quick rinse with distilled water should do? No damage to the internals from getting wet?

The internals are reasonably water tollerant. Rinse off with distilled and blow dry with compressed air, followed by hair dryer. Should be fine.
