error after HID install

So I installed a HID kit on my MCS and it was working great. Later that night I went out, started the car, put the headlights on and saw a headlight symbol on the dash. I turned the lights off and turned them back on and it went away.

Anyone know what that means?
The install was done perfectly.

You don't think the headlights will go out when I'm driving at night or even not come on.

Thanks for any info.

Sounds like a bulb out warning?? What does a "headlight symbol" look like?

Its a voltage difference. You will have to deal with it unless you find out exactly what your voltage differences are between the stock headlights and the HID's. Your car determines bulb out warnings by seeing a difference in voltage than from what its pre-programmed to look for. You can solder in a resistor to correct this (once you know the voltage differences) or live with the bulb out warning. Either way it's find, you will just not know when you have another bulb that is burnt out.

Thanks for the info. It's funny because I got the symbol twice but not again. I know I should of gone the projector route but it wasn't in my budget. I have 8000Ks in now for a week and not gotten flashed. I'm actually going to change the bulb to 6000k because I don't like the blue tint.

I believe it's Kensun. I had a buddy of mine put it in for me. It took him 30mins, he would have done it faster if I wasn't talking to him the whole time. I did see a few youtube videos that look fairly simple. I had xenons on my countryman and when I picked up my MCS hardtop without xenons I thought I was driving without the lights on. It had the stock halogens. My fogs are stock. The HIDs are hella bright alone I thought fogs would be an over kill ( that's just me).
I read that you can adjust your lights downward but I didn't want to mess with that. These cars a pretty low so I thought it wouldn't be a problem. So far so good.

Just get some bulb out cancelers, they sell them on ddmtuning.com and even ebay.
