Hello all, unfortunately my tranny is spitting out 1st gear. I'm not having any other issues so I'm figuring its the tranny itself and not the clutch.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Clutch problems will show symptoms in all gears. It's more likely that this is a transmission problem.

 

Sounds like a transmission issue... Could be a synchromesh issue.

 

I have a 2004 R50, I just had the same symptoms few months ago. Just recently, my tranny just locked up and can not go forward on any of the 5 gears. It wont even move forward (push) while in Neutral. It does however, shift and works in Reverse. Im comtemplating on a Getrag 6 Speed swap. Please attend to it soonest. Hopefully, its not as bad as mine, as I ignored it in the beginning.

 

I hope not. As soon as my mechanic is done being all googly googly with his newborn, I'll be back in business. For now, I try 1st and it still spits it out so I just take off in 2nd. Luckily it's just a 44 mile round trip commute, 96% all highway.
