Amperage on Cig Lighter

Anyone know what the max amperage is on the cig lighter for the Countryman? Trying to get a good tire pump for the car and the one I'm looking at requires a 15-ampere minimum power port rating. I believe the Countryman has a 20 ampere fuse on the cig lighter, so I'm thinking it will be fine. But does anyone know for sure?

Question is a little vague about knowing whether the circuit is designed to hold 15A or the fuse is 20A.
Just pull the fuse door and look at the amperage rating for the fuse. The entire circuit will be rated for more current that what it will take to blow the fuse. 20A fuse means it will hold your 15A pump with no problems.

I have used a VIAIR 85p like this in my CM and it worked fine. It says it requires 14.5A maximum.

Great...yes that is the air compressor that I am looking at. Good to know it works well. Thanks.

If you're still worried, you can get alligator clip to cigarette lighter socket extension cords. I use those on my other cars with easily accessible batteries.

You may also want a straight extension cord (of heavy gauge) so you can reach all four tires. On the CM it's no problem because you've got front and rear sockets though.
