Anybody tried Frozen Rotors?

I finally need to do the brakes on my MINI and I came across Frozen Rotors. People say that they last 2-3 times longer due to the cryogenic heat treatment. Thinking about getting them, just was wondering if anyone else has had them.

I also plan on running EBC Redstuff pads, any input on those? Have they caused anyone hot spotted (warped) rotors?

I have the powerslot cryo rotors and HPS pads.

This is comparing apples to oranges, but the stock rotors were 2/3 to the wear
limit after one set of stock pads, and only about 1/5 - 1/4 to the wear limit after
a set of HPS on cryo rotors.

Depends on your braking and racing tendancies. If you road race, or brake hard, and use harsh pads, then yes grab them.

I agree on a race car it might make a difference, on a street car your just spending extra money.

Thanks for the input guys!
@ Cristo - How does the braking w/ the Cryo's and HPS compare to stock?

I could never tell the difference between frozen and non-frozen rotors in terms of longevity (sessions before starting tiny cracks) or performance for track events. My mechanic still believes some get 25 to 35% more longevity with frozen rotors, so I guess it varies. I haven't heard of anyone claiming twice the longevity though.

Initial bite is a little less than stock, but ramps up with pedal pressure in
a more linear fashion than stock. Overall grip about the same as stock cold,
and better than stock warm with less tendency to fade.
Dust is much lower in amount, lighter in color, and less adherent to the wheels
compared to stock pads.
Rotor wear is much lower, although how much of that is the pads and
how much is the cryo rotors is hard me to say. I'm guessing equal parts of both.

I'm nearing the end of the pads' life, and am now trying to choose between
HPS again or CoolCarbon pads, probably will go with the latter.
I'll clean but not turn the rotors as the wear and scoring is not bad enough to warrant it

Thanks for the in depth info Cristo! I'm gonna go with the Sport Cryo rotors and the HPS pads. I do a lot of mountain driving (in Colorado where nobody knows how to drive and the whole highway can go from 80+ to 5 in no time) so I figure the Cryo rotors are worth it. That combined with frequent "spirited driving" on mountain passes, I'd say its definitely worth the extra $$$, brakes are the last thing I wanna skimp on. I'm hoping to get maybe 3 pads worth out of these rotors, which sounds totally do-able based off your experience, but we'll see how it goes. You'll have to let us all know how the CoolCarbon pads perform.

I really appreciate the feedback I've received from all you guys! Thanks for being so awesome!
