best parts store

I got a 2004 and a 1/2 alot of 05 parts and some 03 parts. Alot of bugs were fixed and some werent addressed. Like i got the upgraded power steering like the 05 but i got the door handles that freeze. Who has the best selection on parts for these cars? I used to work at O'Reillys and i had connections at a dealer ship (wholesale prices) but i havent worked there in over a year and back then i still had trouble finding parts like gaskets and mounts and God forbid i needed anything electrical. I need gaskets and sensors and my amp is bad. Need sturts, and possibly a arms. But i dont want to spend a fortune on racing parts that used to be all i could find aftermarket and.they were still cheaper than dealership. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Oh...you again...

I've really only dealt with Way Motor Works and Outmotoring and both have great customer service and decent prices (typically one was slightly cheaper than the other, so thats the one I chose ). If you need stock struts I've got mine boxed up with 45k on them...if your price works I may just let them go I was planning on keeping them in case I wanted to go back to stock but the more I think about it the more willing I am to get more money in my pocket to help knock items off of my long "to-do" list.

I will check those out thank you. And i may hit you up about those struts when i get that far. Right now im on the it wont start issue. The start has went bad while parked or motor locked up while parked. Either case my plan is to get the motor fixed, then water leaks, then oil leaks, then mounts, then suspension, interior, radio, and new paint and ground effects. Im 195k miles an never changed supercharger or balancer or water pump or thermostat. Im amazed that mine held up i see folks all over yhe forum posting 65k and car falling apart. Do you know any salvage yards that keep MINI? I been trying to find the black or charcoal one tone leather seats and the closest yards that have them to me are in Dallas and they never seem to have anything left by the time i call. Always "yea we got one in last week all that is left is the roof and the passenger door " i tried to buy a wrecked parts car on ebay but the seem to sell higher than ones that drive.

Sorry man, but I don't have any idea where you can find a parts car. I've seen a few being parted out on this forum but theyre hard to find and the parts tend go fast. Since you referred to it as a "rally car," I imagine you don't really care too much about NVH so I'd say get the TSW upper mount from Way and the BSH street lower mount and probably some sort of poly side mount bushings.

If you have the tools/knowledge I'd suggest starting with a compression test on the motor since it won't start to see if its even worth keeping the stock motor.

The above mentioned places are good places, neither is cheap, but both know the cars so you get the right part the first time....
Learned that when i found the local places parts book lists the stock mini belt as one about 2 inches too long (back before i had a pulley).
Some internet bmw parts imports places have some higher ticket items at ok prices....
if you look at realoem.com, get the part#, then shop with that info it helps....
shame the door handles never got swapped....was a free change under a campain under warrenty.....just like ps fan rewire, etc, etc, etc.

I have also dealt with Way Motor Works, and Out Motoring. Both are good sources of parts for MINIs. I have also ordered items from MINI of South Atlanta (http://parts.miniofsouthatlanta.com/...?ukey_make=981), and Pelican Parts (www.pelicanparts.com).

yeah i was second owner and mileage and age bumped me out of the upgrade, or they feed me some bs down in Dallas. it didnt do it til the second year i had it our winters usually arent that bad. if there is snow the handles stick, but it only snows like every three years and rarely stays more than a week. i never new about the power steering fan rewire, mine burnt up in 07, and i got my belt at Oriellys along with idler pulley and it was spot on, sounds like they looked you up the wrong belt perhaps a r50? i'll keep that website in mind. thanks
