2005 MCS Coilover Install = Viabration

Hey guys,

Installed some H&R street coilovers on my R53...took it for a test spin and i'm getting vibration when accelerating. What could this be?

I haven't taken it in my an alignment yet...but i'm not sure if that will fix this anyways.

Any suggestions???

Thanks,

Zubair

Might as well swap it back to stock... That's what i did. I got pissed. It's the Driveshaft... Other things I heard were that cv's could be worn out... But I am not 100% sure...

Try raising it marginally, first. About 3/4" up from slammed and mine are livable. I am going to buy an extra set of axles and CVs just to be safe.

I'm not on H&R's though..

That sucks :/ I'd be so pissed if my R53 vibrated that badly...

When I installed my M7 springs I got the same thing. From everything i read it was due to a grove being worn in the CV bearing on the axle. I don't know how true it was but I know when I replace them it went away.

If I can`t fix it messing with the coilovers, they will be for sale

So do I but after doing a radiator, thermostat, strut mounts, tie rods and coilovers...I just want to drive the bloody car lol

Im just frusterated because I had to deal with both my pinch bolts braking and the hours of drilling it out

Ouch :/ I had no problems with my install except the rubbing up front and needing to order spacers. How bad are the vibes? Mine are only in 2nd from 20-30 at the current.

So I put the coilovers up in the front almost as much as the can go and i've got the viabration dialed out except for in 2nd gear, I think I may be able to deal with it as I can't go back to stock now after riding on these lol!

Going to take it in for an alighnment tomorrow as my alighnment is pretty off since I did Tie rod ends as well. Hopefully that will dial out some more of the viabration.

Thanks the the help guys

Great news! Yeah they put the stock ride to shame you have any pics? I'm curios to see how low you are on those.

Still looks good even with those all the way up. You're definitely still noticeably dropped
