I get a strange rattle sound on my 05 R53 with 82k miles on it. I do not hear it when I start the car but I start hearing it when I drive 30+ miles. I have a 30 min drive everyday and when I come to my stop it makes the sound. When I turn my steering wheel it stops until I let go of the steering wheel. Could someone please help me figure out what this is.

 

Well, first of all, does it sound like it is comming from the engine, or interior?

I have tons of dash rattles that come and go. Then again I drive a dirt road 2x a day.

Well the sound is clearly heard inside but when I open the hood and try to hear for it I can not hear it.

 

I'd start with the interior.
When you hear the sound at idle, without turning the wheel, press around the dash and radio, glove box, etc, and see if you can isolate where it's coming from.
