It started to happen randomly and now it is stuck and won't do the auto dip when the door shuts so I have crazy air noise .

Anyone else have this issue?

Is it staying up and then catching on the top trim and prying out?

Mine did this a couple of times during the winter, primarily because it got some ice build up on the bottom gasket and the motor couldn't drop the window when I opened the door. I put the window down about an inch and then closed the door. But its only done it when it was cold and icy.

I had to have the motor and scissor arms replaced in my window, it had stopped working completely.

This is a common problem and MINI repaired mine under warranty. Here is a fix that will get the window working again until you can get to the dealer.

1) Don't laugh, this really works.
2) Open drivers door.
3) Locate a spot just above the bottom speaker and just in front of door pocket
4) Form your left hand into a fist with the knuckles facing up.
5) With a strong sideways motion, solidly THUMP the door panel with the soft side of your fist on the previously located spot.
6) Roll down window.
7)

This was shown to me by the lead tech at my MINI dealer and I uesd it several times untill I goy my window fixed.

it's just that those that don't have the problem don't post that they don't. So it only appears that way. Oh, I don't have the problem.

Actually, my 2003 is on its 3rd drivers side window motor... The last time i was in, the customer service advisor told me that they get several window motor repairs a week at the dealership.
