Xmas in Feb.
Xmas in Feb.
One kid off to college the second close behind. Had old VW's all my life until the wife said "not safe for the kids". With them heading out I thought it time to go back. Was looking at old Karmin Ghias, mostly needing lots-o-work. Was not excitied about laying in the driveway winter time fixing something to get to work. Wife said, "why not get something newer and safe". Had always been dreaming of a Mini. It was Feb. and icey when on a web search up poped a 2006 Mini "S", convertible, CHEAP, with 25,000 miles. No one wanted the convertible in Feb. Went and got it that day. Got a book on enhancing performance and was all excited. Open the hood with book in hand only to discover most of it had already all been done, cold air intake, reduced pully, borla exhaust, ECU remapping, am I a lucky man, even my dog had a big smile! Any excuse to drive....do you need me to go out and some milk?
Congrats, and welcome to NAM! It sounds like you have one helluva good find on your hands (or in your driveway) with all the aftermarket upgrades that have been done. Modding is part of the fun of owning a MINI, but you can always do things like new wheels, stripes & graphics, etc.
You'll be looking for the long way around or the "scenic route" to wherever you're going. I've had my MINI for two years and that hasn't changed a whit.
Note that "Long" refers to distance, not the amount of time it takes to get there. A supercharger and go kart handling take care of that.
Two directives for you:
1) Post more pics (love your Dal BTW)
2) Drive 'er in good health
Happy Motoring!
