Alta sway bar and Alta end links

I just installed the 19mm sway and now I am installing the end links. From looking at their diagram with bolt and washer placement it appears to look like the end link is on the outside of the sway bar with the bolt going towards the center of the car. This seems physically impossible because the end link won't clear the control arm to connect at the bottom. Am I looking at something wrong or is it the drawing?

I also posted this in the suspension section in case no one sees it here.

The endlink is on the inside of the bar, with the bolts of the endlink facing out away from the centerline of the vehicle.

Yeah that's the way I ended up mounting it. The picture from Alta was showing the top trailing arm connection. Although the bottom I have the bolt inward with the nut on the inside. That seemed like the better mounting option though not sure if it is correct. Seems to handle fine.

ok my question about this sway bar is it seems to be the only one that has the lips on the outside ends of the attachments to to the body to prevent the bar from moving laterally back and forth.
is this needed as the other bars don't have them

Once it's bolted on both sides it couldn't go anywhere. Not needed.

Curious, did you get any clunking noise from the Alta endlinks? Cause boy since I installed them, they suck!

Yeah, I just had these endlinks installed with my 19mm RSB. Any way to reduce that annoying clunking? Seriously- I mean it handles well but not worth the clunking- disappointed there.

Got rid of them anyways. I'm putting Koni Yellows on at some point.

I have had my Alta 22mm Rear Sway Bar and Endlinks installed for about a year now and have not had one bit of clunking sound.

OK guys so I had this problem on both my 56 and most recently on my 59. Here is what i did today. I had my roommate sit in the car (he is about the same size as I am) and then i disconnected the end links from the car. After they were out i readjusted the length to fit back on with no binding. It was a pain to do since I did it on a lowered car with the wheels on. Test drove it to the store and back and havent heard a clunk since. Good luck! PM if you still have questions on my fix.

Thanks for the pictures, RJ. Turns out mine were installed correctly (as suspected) but a bolt came loose and was causing the clunking (really sounded like a box of marbles and sticks under the car). Had it tightened with some locktite and no noise since.

Just curious if you remember what you torqued your end links down at? I've got the same set up and have an awful rattle sound. Thanks!

My Alta end links are loud as well. They are an exposed heim joint, so no protection from the elements, like dirt and such. Once dirt and/or dust get into those exposed joints, wear will occur, thus the noise. There are other options out there, but they are pricey. I may just go back to my stock end links, and call it done and good. If I can find them in my garage....LOL!
