Best short shifter

what do you guys think the best short shifter kit is out there for the MCS. my brother said he would buy me one when he found out that i got a MSC and im going to hold him up tho that promise.

i really dont like the lever length being shortened as i like the stock height... throw change is what im looking for, and an even better click-click gear change.

Look at the Helix:

It shortens the throw more than the NM adapter and keeps the lever length the same. The change is dramatic and really makes shifting so much faster.

Since you have an 02 the only ones you could get are the Helix or we have very few of the fidanza short shifters for $50, which are the same as the old B&M.

i just put the helix in my 06 mcs and i don't like it much. I'm not sure if other people have this issue, but 2nd 4th and 6th gear feel really gummy after the install. It's tough to feel when its in gear and even tougher to get it out. if anyone has advise on a better shifter, can't wait to hear back,.

Strange, I don't have those problems. In fact, the opposite. Shifting is much crisper and precise. Are you sure everything was fastened securely afterward? Also, did you use LocTite on the set screw?

The install went smoothly as far as I know, I did it myself. I may have to open it up again and see if anything looks off. I did use locTite, and put everything back together properly. Is yours an 09?

Yea, mine is a 2009 but I don't think it should matter, although I could be wrong. Maybe some other R53 owners with the Helix can chime in.

Hey Haik,

This is Rob at Helix. I believe you spoke to Eric yesterday about install problems. Did you have any success fixing the "gummy" problem?
