Low Tire Warning Light Not in Manual- What Does it Mean?

Good Afternoon,

I have an 09 MCS, and have been through the usual tire pressure light reset and stuff. Yesterday morning a new low tire light came on and it's not in the owners manual. It looks like a car with little triangles pointing at all four wheels. I checked all 4 tires and pressure was ok. Have reset and it's off for now. Can anyone tell me what the car is trying to let me know?

Thanks,

Anne

I'm guessing, but if all 4 corners were identified I'd bet the system was telling you it lost contact with the wheels - reset has cleared the issue and I'll bet all is well given that you verified pressures are OK.

Recently I was 10 hours into a 12 hour drive when my TPMS indicated a low tire. Given that I've dropped runflats for regular and I was in boonieville I was not happy. Pulled over with DYNAPLUG and SLIME and a pump ready to go, but saw nothing wrong. Drove carefully to nearest garage with a pump to get off the highway, checked pressures and everything was spot on. Reset the light and kept my fingers crossed the rest of the way. Everything has been fine since, including the return trip and two months since then.

Sunspots? Aliens? or sometimes those electrons just get their skivies in a knot and want to act up!
