R50/53 Body Color Dash
I see that the new Cabriolet will have a body color dash. I really like the look of that. Has anybody painted theirs? I am considering having mine done after I get the car. http://fp.images.autos.msn.com/meris...y/c446985a.jpg
I can paint the dash to match your exterior. I have done this to many MINIs, including my own. The look is awesome. checkout this link. I painted Jerseygirls Downtubes. The end of the post there is a link to my interior.

Painted colored dashboards will soon be available directly from Mini as part of the accessory line, you might want to hold off till you get chance to see them. Unless you want a color that is different than your exterior color.
Also soon to be available from John Cooper Works will be a full carbon fiber dashboard with the airbag feature fully intact. Unfortunately after speaking to John Cooper Works directly they told me their agreement with BMW tightly restricts their selling of the CF dashboard. Currently they are only allowed to sell and install it at the Cooper Works factility in England. They are not allowed to ship any outside of the UK. The only ones they are making for LHD cars are for the new Monte Carlo Mini version, that is part of a $7,200.00 upgrade with many other features that do not address any performance enhancing details
After speaking with MINI USA they tell me they don't know either as to when the CF dasnboard will be available in the USA. MINI USA said I should stay in contact with my dealership to find out when it will be here in the US. The CF dashboard is a bit pricey though, about 740 pounds sterling or around $1,300 USD. I saw one in a Monte Carlo Mini at my dealership and the CF dashboard looks awesome.
Now the question is do I get the CF dashboard or upgrade my stock brakes? The stock brakes on a Cooper Works Mini are a bit weak.

Dash painting doesn't have to be limited to body colors.

>>what are those things around the headrest posts?
They're "headrest springs" that I purchased from an auto parts store in Vancouver, BC. I painted them blue to match the blue dash.
