Still new here, but has anybody taken off there Bonnet Stripes?? and if they have, has it left a residue behind on the bonnet/hood? Like sticker lines? Or lines? or were the paint is lighter under the sticker? I have a 04 Pepper White that I bought back in Nov. So the paint is not to old… Thanks for any info you can give.

Use a hairdryer or heatgun to start off the edge of the stripe.
Then peel back slowly. If there is adhesive or residue left on the
bonnet, use some GooGone on a soft t-shirt and rub away. Don't
use papertowels.

I would then use claybar to remove any residue left on the bonnet,
(ScratchX if it still doesn't come off) then finish off with wax.

Light colors like silver and white will probably show no sign of
fading especially in only 6-7months.

btw, its a good idea to wash off the GooGone with car shampoo before you
do the claybar.

I attack gluey residues of any kind with WD-40......I will try Goo-Gone see if it is better....BTY, Goo-gone is the best cleaner of everything i have run into, specially the high test smelly kind.....

I'd stay away from heat guns, but a hairdryer shlould do the trick to get it started. 3M makes a spray called something like "Woodgrain & Stripe Remover" that works very fast and won't damage the paint. Mask off the rest of the hood before you spray however since the stuff is messy. 3M also makes a spray cleaner to remove the remover that while more expensive than Goo Gone or WD40, it won't harm the paint and won't require clay barring and additional cleaning.

but wd40 harms nothing.....I have been using it in my race cars (race cars have lots of stickers) for years and it works a treat.......I swear......
