Loss of SOME boost while shifting

When shifting into 2nd while driving hard, my boost goes from 18 psi in 1st to 5 psi in 2nd. A few months back I installed the WMW upgrade BOV and I just re-tightened it which made no difference. I find this loss of boost happens most of the time and I am short of any ideas as I originally blamed the BOV. Any ideas? My mods are in my sig, thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if you can use it in the WMW BOV, but you can get a firmer spring from Alta for the factory diverter valve to hold more boost in between shifts. I don't have one, but I've been considering it.

Sounds like over loading to me (I have had the same exact issue but my car is an Auto). Is your boost creeping once you shift? It could be 18PSI then when you shift it will spike to like 22 and then the ECU cuts it down to 5. Try letting off the throttle and then going back WOT and see if it resets it. It letting off the back WOT brings the boost back it is the car overloading.

your getting a boost cut, when you hit 22psi it cuts the boost back. You might want to see if Jan can modify your tune to eliminate it.

Thanks for the replies, he mentioned it could be the new DV I installed but I'll pass by the dealer and pick one up to see if that s the culprit. It would just stay at 5 psi until I let off and get on the throttle again. It doesn't creep and I do not lose boost at higher gears. Ill try the first two things
1)boost leak? (but havent touched a boost tube in ages)
2)DV

Anyone had any similar experiences with a bad DV?

Your tune will have to be adjusted. Get with Jan and see if he can make some adjustments. If you have the ability to take some Data logs and send them to him that usually helps.
