Dealer Mis-order Mess Up

Well, I got a call today from the MA who I placed my order with, for a JCW hardtop and was informed the wrong seats were ordered. I ordered the checkered cloth, exclusive to the JCW but it was built with the black leatherette.
They did try to fix it at the plant but no luck.
I had the pleather seats last time with no real issues but wanted to try the cloth this time.
I can live with the mistake but its not what I ordered. They can re order the car but thats another 4 weeks out and to me its not a real tragedy, if I accept them.

They did, however, ask what they can do for me. They have been a good dealership, so far, to deal with and I dont need to stick it to them in any way, just want to be fair both ways.

What do you think would be a fair adjustment for my compromise?

Personally I would re-order the car and get exactly what you want.

I agree. You are paying too much to get what you don't want. What's a 4 week wait compared to sitting on seats you didn't want for 2-3-4? years.

I would re-order too. Four weeks really isn't that long, you're already waiting 6 weeks (plus or minus), another month won't kill you.. Unless you don't care that you are getting Leatherette again, maybe ask for some accessories that you didn't get originally to go with the car? I wouldn't go overboard with it though if they are being nice about it. Maybe only enough to comp for the price difference of the seats?

I say re order too. Not that you are trying to be an *** about it but it really is
a lot of money, and chances are you will be keeping it a while like most people do.

If it's really not a big deal to you, ask for some accessories you'd want but couldn't justify putting the money down for at this time.

The cloth seats will be cooler in the Florida summers. Re-order and wait it out.

+1. Wen it comes to seats it would have to be like I ordered JCW Recaros and it came with non sport cloth seats before I would reorder. Get some other dealer installed accessory instead.

From your comment it doesn't seem to be a deal breaker so I would get some accessories as well and leave the seats. Personally, I love the leather.

+1 - You may end up keeping the JCW for a long time. Get what you want - that way you have less a chance of buyer's remorse.

Ask them to order the seats and swap them when they come in. They will take a little hit, but it is their mistake.

That is a good idea. Fix the problem and not have to wait. Also they could turn around and sell those seats fll price and make their money back. Because they damn sure would do it.

I did reorder today.
I was also thinking about asking them to just swap out the seats when it comes in but I decided to make a change on the interior color scheme anyway, so I'll just wait it out and get what I really want.

So do they cancel the other order or does the dealer have to sell it anyway? How does that work?

I thought of the same question. Not sure what happens. I guess the dealer takes it in their stock. Unless they can network with other dealers to see if anyone else may want it.

Hopefully they don't build the first car at all and if they do I am would that your dealer would not have a hard time selling it unless it has very off the wall options.

You won't regret it.

And the dealer will just put the original one in his stock and sell it.

It was already built, waitng for the boat.
I know it will be right this time but there sending me a copy of the actual build sheet this time, so I'll be able to confirm its right.

They didn't send you one the first time around?
