Wheel fitment issue- please help.

All:

I am putting the OEM 17" rims back on my '11 S All4, and one of the rear wheels just won't fit. Something is preventing the rim from sitting flush with the hub. All the other rims fit. The wheel seems fine, as does the hub.

-Are the front & rear wheels different?

-Have you heard of/experienced this problem?

Thanks in advance,

Paul.

Fixed it. Turns out part of the winter rim (pressed in spacer) had stuck on the hub.

Why did Mini decide to use threaded lug nuts? Everyone else gave up on that years ago!

I think you mean threaded lug BOLTS....

anyway, Porsche still uses them, along with Audi and VW and probably others. It does make it a bit of a hassle to mount the wheels unless you have a screw-in guide to slide the wheel on (my Porsche has this).

I stand corrected. Threaded lug bolts. They're a PITA.

If you work with them a bit, it's actually easier to mount and dismount wheels that use the bolts instead of studs. You just slap the wheel on and spin it until the holes line up. Of course if you're using cheap aftermarket wheels that don't have nicely machined/matching hubs it does become a real pita.
