Waiting time on 2011 Orders?

Hey guys,

I searched and found a good deal of discussions on earlier models taking anywhere from 6 months to 12 weeks for delivery...

But my question is specifically about the 2011 Minis...

How long have you guys been waiting for delivery from the time of ordering? I ordered a MCS last week and my dealer told me 6-8 weeks, which sounds reasonable... but I am curious what you all have experienced?

TIA!

-M

Have previously ordered a 2008 and 2011 BMW (for my wife) and both builds were very accurate and you can track them online. Not sure if the same is true for MINI, but I would assume so. Very pleased with the process in both instances, the 2008 was on time, and the 2011 was even ahead of schedule.

Not too bad...

I ordered my MCS on 3/30, and it is scheduled for delivery on 5/1. I may have just gotten lucky with production slots/shipping on the boat, but less than five weeks for me.

I'm sure it has to do with how many options you ordered to but that's quick.

It has nothing to do with options.. It has to do with when the dealer can get an allocated production slot.

It takes about 5 weeks from the start of production to delivery on the east coast. probably not any shorter, and maybe longer depending on the transport ship schedule.

I ordered mine Sept 9 of 2009 (2010 model) and took delivery 3 Nov. It was in pre production for almost 2 weeks.

Great to hear guys... mine was ordered 4/22 so if I get it sometime before July, I suppose that'll be a 'win'.

Four weeks from order to east coast dealer. And that was in March which was supposed to be one of their best month ever.

I recall my 2003 being about 8 weeks and my 05 Cab about the same. I think the Clubmans were quicker though.

2 weeks from when I placed the order and Mini still has is listed 'On Order'... Not even 'In Production'... does the order tracker even really work?

Getting antsy.

They told me 6-8 weeks and as you can see below, they were pretty accurate. Also, that owner's lounge is useless. Ask your MA or call the ASKMNINI line. They have the most updated info.

Matt,

Call 1-866 ASK-MINI and follow the prompts for Vehicle Information Status. The lounge is always behind the schedule. You can also ask to talk to a customer representitive to see if they have any information.

Ok, I figured the OL was just not frequently updated. Cool, I appreciate the tip.

Time for a drink!
