**** won't come off

I have a Cravenspeed short shifter and previous owner installed a carbon fiber **** that just won't come off. Tried everything plus a buddy lifts wts big time and he couldn't budge it. Reluctantly put open end wrench beneath **** collar and rapped it from underneath w/hammer...no budge.
Any way to get the shifter apart. Want to put the Gravenspeed shift well on.

Did you look to see if there were set screws on the bottom of the ****? Maybe behind a threaded collar? And a pic might help as well.

No set screws on the chrome collar underneath the CF **** and tried to "unscrew" the collar but it seems to be part of the ****.
Wondered if the connection on the Cravenspeed could be released?

Evidently the shaft on all the Cravenspeed are threaded and for our application there is a sleeve that goes over the threaded part and the **** is inserted over the sleeve. Anyone have experience with how the sleeve is attached?

Sounds like you should try to unscrew the **** or sleeve...

Just tried to unscrew it but was rotating the whole shaft...back to the drawing board. Hate to put a pipe wrench on it but maybe with enough tape and prep I can try it that way.

Have you called craven yet? Or the original owner?

To bring closure... I think the OP got the **** off. I was the original owner and finally logged in and saw his pm. The chrome collar on the bottom unscrews and reveals the 3 pinch screws that need to be loosened.

^^ sopunds like an M7 from that description. CF, chrome collar, set screws underneath...
we should trade, until i shimmed mine, it loved to get loose and wobble all the time. I wouldn't mind mine being stuck....
