How many people have actually swapped their turbo?

Just recently purchased a cooper S and was wondering how many people had actually swapped the turbo in their cooper, how many have done this with the access port? I found threads on turbo swaps but they all seem to be pretty old.

I have...nothing too major though

I use a JCW turbo on my S, its a direct swap and provides great gains for the ease and price of it

anyone else do anything a bit more complicated. What sort of numbers are expected with JCW turbo, or I should say potential with supporting modifications.

That isn't bad for this little car. Though I imagine an OEM turbo is pretty pricey.

AccessPort is great for changing maps and resetting CEL codes. Be advised that you can only change maps, not create them. The AP comes with a reasonable set of maps for a variety of upgrades, but if you want a different turbo, you'll need a custom map. Currently, there are only a few people in the USA with the capability to create a custom map that can be installed with the AP. If you really want to go that route, be prepared to wait your turn for their services. I've been waiting for a couple months now, but I'm hopefully only a week or two away from a dyno appointment, then I drive all day to another state to keep it. Yes, I changed tuners because of lack of service, but it's still a slow process unless you can find someone local and get their attention.

Alta has their own hybrid turbocharger right now, they are just putting their rotor in your housing, but will be coming out with a complete modified turbocharger.

I'm sure they have an Access Port map for it.

Yeah I saw that post, that seems like the best option if you want decent power. There are a few local E85 places around me if I can get a map I will for sure try it out. Yeah I sort of sucks that the mini market is so small on an STI I previously had I just ran the ECU flash with a FP green turbo and it ran great no issues what so ever, but I also had and evo and a Turbo S2K that I ended up going with an AEM, the S2K I had to.

In the UK the JCW Turbo charger is over £1200 plus your old MCS one in exchange. I am selling a brand new one for £750 in the classifieds.

I am just waiting on my FMIC to arrive then fitting that with my own JCW Turbo and JCW Manifold. Then remap
