Wood dash kits????

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with any wood dash kits??? I want something a little more exotic than the wood kit MINI offers but don't want a cheap looking kit like the one that I put in my Pathfinder years ago that just stuck to the existing surface and stuck out like a sore thumb....

Wood in a MINI?

Ain't my cup of tea, nor do I feel it suits the car at all....but different strokes for different folks!

The things people want to do to their cars never ceases to amaze me.

I have the OEM OAK trim in my car and IMHO it looks great.

As for wood dash kits there are some on the market check in the Modifications section and you may find some threads there on it.

I have it too and everyone has commented on how great it looks. If you go with anything other than oem it will look cheap IMO.

Yeah, I think it looks great. I just wanted something to go with my Redwood Leather and wanted something different than the stock english oak. And I dont understand the statement "The things people want to do to their cars never ceases to amaze me."????? Just about EVERY high end car has wood and it does make a car look better. The original Mini looked great with wood trim.....

not like you'd ever find wood in a real Mini . . .

First off Mini Cooper is not a high end car. It's kind of a techno retro. It's a retro with some nice modern day technology. I was just adding my opinion. Probably shouldn't have been so harsh. I personally think the aftermarket wood kits look cheap and like the add on they are. The factory designers usually do the best job on interior components.

And that is why I asked about any aftermarket kits that don't look cheap like the one I already bought in the past. I definitely will not be going that route. And I never said MINI was a high end car. I was just making a correlation between high end cars and wood being used. I personally hate plastics and would like to look at wood any day.....
