Can the cabin vents be opened for fresh air?

I have a '09 Clubman.

Is there a way to open the cabin vents so I can get fresh air without having the air conditioner on or the windows/sunroof open? I know, I know... I had the Mini for over two years now but...

Thanks...

Yes, turn off the snowflake button for the A/C and you'll be running on just fresh air.

Right, AC off, fan on. I think you have to have the fan on to get fresh air.

I don't think you even need the fan on. Outside air will flow in through the vents if recirculation is off.

Sheesh... is that all there is to it? I'll give it a try!

Thanks all...

For some reason MINI's won't let fresh air in without the fan on, so I just have mine at the lowest setting, with recirc off and the A/C off when I want fresh air.

I don't have personal experience with this on 2nd gen MINI. In 1st gen MINI, as long as recirc isn't on, there is an open vent to outside air, with or without the fan on.

Where is the cabin air filter located on the '09 S?

Right side of the dash, under and behind the glovebox.
