2014 Clubman S. Over the recent hot months I have been using the air a lot. I've been noticing a smell resembling a noxious chemical or burning smell. It has gotten worse over the last couple of weeks. It is more noticeable when the fresh air vents are open. I can't find anything obvious when I park the car and open the hood or even smell anything. I have checked the floor and have not felt anything damp also checked the cabin air filter, no signs of mold or plugged drain line. Oh when the compressor kicks off the odor is pretty strong it usually dissipates when the compressor kicks back on. I have read a lot of postings about plugged drain lines and mold, this smell does not smell like mold at all.

 

Have you ask your MINI dealer? Most are very friendly.

 

a 14 is under warranty, no?
