upgrading DV on 2011 MCS

Hi Guys,

i wanted to upgrade internals of my DV (spring + diaphragm) on my 2011 MCS with 260+HP rated one from A3 as described in a different thread
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...heck-this.html

has anyone done this on their 2011? i already got the VW DV and was about to do an upgrade as i ran into an issue of taking OEM DV off. it seems like pre-2011 R56 allowed for easier access to DV. picture of 2011 is here. did anybody do 2011 DV upgrade yet? how did you deal with moving the rubber tubing (pardon my non-technical language here) that is blocking access to DV out of the way? thx a lot

I think most people that have done this needed to take off the coolant tubes to the fill tank to access the valve. Prepare to make a mess

Yes, the coolant overflow tank needs to be moved out of hte way. Make sure to release the pressure before you undo the hose - or you will be cleaning coolant from every little crevice in your engine compartment.

It is a true PAIN to get to, but it can be done.

What?!? Yes they have changed the set up and it looks much harder.

I have taken that stupid dv off so many times I can do it in 20 minutes now. You just move the tank to the side you don't have to disconnect it.

The reason I was taking it on and off is because I had the forge dvplate that turns it into a blow off valve. I could not make my mind up, I had it on and off every week. I eventually sold it so my knuckles could get a rest, and as soon as I did I wanted it back on, but o well.

thx for the info, guys!

moving the coolant tank out of the way is not a problem though moving the tubes didn't look that trivial at the first glance. i am pretty handy and should be able to manage it...
