JCW Downpipe Diameter

Hey guys,

I'm looking to get a custom downpipe made up for my JCW. The exhaust shop is suggesting a 2.5" pipe. Is this the best size? Does anyone know what diameters the aftermarket offerings are, or any suggestions as to what diameter I should request?

Thanks in advance

2.5" is best. 3" all the way back is overkill for a 1.6L engine, even if you eventually mod the car to 250-300bhp.

Are you trying to make a downpipe with a catalytic converter?

Why would you bother going custom when there's plenty of aftermarket pieces you can use for not that much money, especially in the classifieds forums.
Besides, the shop most likely won't have the equipment to bend the flange that connects to the catback. You might want to confirm with them first. They might just weld the dp to the catback.

Because I live in Australia. Shipping alone is ~US$170.
