Are you interested in summer tires or all seasons? And what do you want to do with these tires?

For great performance and actually quite reasonable tire life, and also great bang for buck, the Dunlop Direzza Star Spec Z1 is fantastic

Check out tire rack for their tire reviews. I went with Yokahama Envigors. I think the Contis and Bridgestone Grids would also be good choices.

The Conti DWS look small. I'm running 215/45-17s on mine and they still look like they could go another size larger (my gallery pic shows them on my car). But they are great tires... my last set still had some W showing with over 30,000 on them. I just put a new set on this week... huge improvement over the Michelin winter tires I've been running since November.

Yup, fantastic in the rain. That why I use them exclusively as my wet tire on the track.

But they are not all seasons. And they do get a little greasy when you heat them up too much.

Definitely one thing I noticed, they don't like to be too hot.

Great autoX tire.

I have gone through 4 sets of tires already, two sets of z1s. For the street, I still like the comfort and quietness of the conti dws and it is pretty good for all seasons.

Tire size

205/45-17 is OEM stock and good choice.

215/45-17 is alternate size and slightly larger/taller than stock but OK.

Both with fit stock wheels and stock suspension but if you are lowered then 205/45-17 gives more clearance.

If you have any snow then All Season tire is best.
If you have street only driving and want longer tread life then All Season is best.

While Dunlop Direzza Star Spec Z1 is a very good performance tire (Extreme Summer tire) it is overkill for street driving and will wear fast about 12K+ depending on how you drive. Not for any snow.

In Ultra High Performance All Season tires:

Continental ExtremeContact DWS is the tire of choice dry, wet, or snow.
205/45-17 $109
215/45-17 $115
540 treadwear 20 lbs each

Bridgestone Potenza RE960 AS
215/45-17 $158 each, 25 lbs each, 400 treadwear

Yokohama AVIDENVigor (W)
215/45-17 $107 each, directional tread design
540 treadwear 24 lbs each
