Suspension Travel

I have lowered my Hot Rod Mini as much as I can. I know I will have to trim the front wheel wells for tire clearance but don't know how much.
In hard cornering, how much suspension travel will I get? Or how much tire clearance do I need?

and 12s x 5s you do not need to cut wings but 12s x 6 and 13s you will need to trim

I'm running 6 by 10s.
Right now at rest going straight I have 1" clearance between the tire and fender opening. In a hard turn this distance reduces to less than 1/2". So I know I need to enlarge the fender opening, I just don't know how much. I have new fiberglass flairs so cutting the fenders is no problem.

Have you stiffened up upir Suspension with a sports packagelike this....

http://www.minisport.com/mini-spare-...usta_Ride.html

I'm using Ajuster-rides and spax ajustable shocks, and I run it quite hard and have no problems with front wheel rubbing..............and here on the Island of Jersey the roads are quite bumpy..............

No, I was advised to stay away from coil overs. The inner fender wells are just sheet metal and not solid or stiff enough to support coil overs.
The rear adjustment rods allowed for more than enough adjustment to lower the rear end enough. I then installed chains from the brake drum to the body to keep it from falling apart when jacking the car up.
On the front, we cut 1/2 inch off the bottom of the trumpet which lowered the front where I wanted it. So the suspension is the stock cones.

??? The thickness of the fender wells doesn't have anything to do with the mounting of the suspension. You still mount the suspension components to the subframe, not the fender, even with coil overs.

You could always install coil springs that replace the stock rubber doughnuts. That still provides adjustable ride height and the suppleness of coil springs.

Right now I got the car looking where I like it, so I'll give this a try and if I don't like the handling I'll try the coilovers.

Probably close with stock bump stops, but I'm using modified ones.
