Talking Week 6ers...come on in, it's warm inside!

In celebration of the coldest day we've had all year, my MA notified me that my Countryman 'Tutto Quattro' went into production starting today, 2/01/2011

This made my day since the Ask Mini phone site indicated they were closed due to crappy Ohio weather. So I got my fix compliments of my MA. WOO HOO!

Anyone else waiting in the wings?

Mine went into production today with an estimated completion date of 2/11/11.

Got a note from my MA saying that I had a planned production start date of Monday, but no changes in OL or word from her on whether they actually hit that.

Ah well.

My estimated completion is 2/9...so I'm guessing rsbell and I will be on the same boat, especially since we're both heading to the west coast. And both Light Whites! I'm still a 150 status as of yesterday.

Modimum...It was 3 days before OL showed that mine went into production (after it already had). And when I talked to a live person at Ask Mini two days prior to it actually going into production they 'hinted' for me to call back on Wednesday (which was when my actual production started).

My MA beat them all to the punch with an update email however that very morning.

Just stopped by the office for a few hours of catch-up on some paper work, jumped on OL (because I can't open it up on the I Pad) and says "At The Dealer" which I l know its not as I spoke with them yesterday...but must mean it's assigned a truck for the ride to CT or even better sitting in the parking lot waiting for them to open doors Monday AM.....soooo happy.

Would it be completely insane for me to drive over to the VDC in Oxnard to see the cars unloaded? It's about a 2 hour drive for me from home (or a half hour flight, then rent a car...).

I could maybe snap a pic of your car as well, DLT.

Ok, that would be insane.

Hey... If you got the time.. Go for it! Not as crazy as you think. If it were not for all the snow and bad weather..I might of given it a shot, CT to NY/NJ
2 to 2.5 hours by car..or even better 45 minutes from wheels up to centerline of either runway 4L or 22L JFK

Ummmmm no not crazy! If I was that close I would do it for sure. I don't know why I keep driving to my mini dealer just to catch a glimpse of a new Countryman color combo when mine is sooo far off.

Flyer53...CONGRATS on nearly taking delivery Can't wait to see your pics!

Thanks days..I've done the same as far as going to catch a look of the CosmicBlue at the dealership. Nice color combo you've got ! That was my original choice and then day of the order changed it.

Really?

Hmmm. I'm going to really consider it.

I do have about 6 weeks to think about it, but if anyone out there has been there and says the layout is such that I can see the cars, then I probably will go.

Flyer53: Since you are picking yours up this week, we will live vicariously through you, even though I'm looking at April delivery The Cosmic Blue/white top was the FIRST Countryman I saw in person...it was a vehicle that was touring different dealerships. The one I saw, however, had the white turbo fans. Cosmic Blue is, no doubt, gorgeous and I considered it as long as I considered black. Unfortunately I cannot keep it clean enough for my tastes I know...some say white is similar, but at least the salt spray in the winter is hidden a bit (a 6 month long issue for me).

rsbell: boy we sure have to wait a long time for our cars! Mine was upgraded to status 152 today......PAINT

Day-like-this: I do got to see the countryman as it came thru New England. This one was black/black. I was never much for dark colors, always had the whites, tans etc. My initial order was as yours white/black and much like you, pretty particular on how it looks..and for what ever reasons...just before the order switched to the CosmicBlue. I saw it for the 1st time in person a few weekends ago at the dealership. It looked fabulous, but even in the show room plenty of smudges and prints... I will be busy !

Awesome!

My daily morning call to MINI didn't give me any new details (production began on 2-2-11, expected to be completed on 2-11-11), but I'll try back a little later when I make my daily night call.

OL did add my VIN over the weekend, though. I'm not sure if that has any significance as far as production is concerned.

Production was completed yesterday, 2/9 so my mini has officially been born Now I'm a 180 status (as of yesterday afternoon) or a 182 status. I can't imagine that I've already left the factory and am waiting at Bremerhaven? It seems like it takes about 2 days for that to occur from reading on here. More research in the 1st gear thread is coming my way! My MA indicated, " Your MINI is complete and it is awaiting carrier and load assignment #." Hmm....

OL still says 'scheduled for production' but my MA gave me all the above info.

I read somewhere in one of the threads..someone needs to come up with App for the I phone or blackberry, etc...linking the Ol, tracking, all as one

Mine is at the paint shop today.

I'm sure I won't make the ship on the 11th, and will have to wait until the 26th.

Hopefully yours makes the early ship, DLT!

You're telling me! Seems like a waste of 2 weeks waiting for the next ship, but I have to remind myself that WW doesn't exist to cater my whim!

Modimum, is yours still waiting for transport? OL says that of mine today (which is always a few days behind).

Honestly I knew I wouldn't be able to make the Feb 11 ship, but what a bummer WW lists the next one not until Feb 26...are there other infill ships that they contract with that just might not be listed?

My original 'arrival' at the dealer isn't supposed to be until April, but I've secretly wondered if they tell me that so when it comes in March we are all excited which is SOOOO much better than under-delivering and over-promising. My MA has been SUUUUUPER to date

Flyer...if you don't pick your CM up tomorrow, I'll go pick it up for you

rsbel...yours is done today, no???

I'm out in the world with an iPad, no flash, so I can't check the OL. No word from my MA either, so I'm guessing still waiting transport. she said 3 to 4 weeks, BUT also said the car had been completed in the UK, so I don't think she's closely following things, you know?

probably would have been 3 or 4 if it had made the 11th transport, but when we ordered she said April delivery (and we're close to the ga port of arrival) so I'm mentally there, you know? It would not be untrue to say I am a little sad about saying goodbye to the Pepper White so a few more weeks with her is OK with me.

Super jealous on your Georgia port...you will pass us up.

I hear you on nostalgia with your pepper white. I've been enjoying my Subie more the last bit as well (and still get so many compliments on it and people buying them here). I fell in love with Mini from their Pepper White MCS. Enjoy the few months.

Just got off the phone with MINI. They say it's in final assembly/quality control inspection, so I suspect it will be finished today.

We better make the February 26th ship (arriving at Port Hueneme on March 23d as you know), because the next one isn't until March 14th and arriving on April 6th.

Can't Resist

First time to order a Mini. Tried like crazy to resist getting sucked into being a track addict. Have to admit once mine went into production - my will power crumbled and I now need a daily fix - or more.

So - I'm happy to be part of the Week 6 group. Build complete today - I think. I'm in Texas. From what I can tell - mine gets a shorter boat ride to the east coast - the GA port? Any ideas which departure dates I should keep my eyes on?
