So I am in Atlanta for the first couple of days this week to have Way from WMW do some work on my MINI. I tell you I hate Atlanta. 2 count them 2 exits before I got off the freeway to head to Way's shop two retards decided that one it was the exit they want to get off at and one it was the exit that they want to get off on. Well in the mass hysteria of these two imbeciles something big and whit got kicked up in the little wedge that you see at an exit and it shot almost like a bullet bounced off the ground and hit the front of my MINI. It managed to knock out the driving light. It didn't break the glass it just knocked the bulb out so I get a bulb out warning now every time I start the car. It also managed to scratch the bumper in two spots. The same bumper that I have had painted twice in the last year. Well the good thing is Way is going to be putting in an OS Giken clutch for me and doing some suspension work so that is worth the trip up here. I just wished people in Atlanta knew how to drive.

 

It's not just Atlanta, it's everywhere.

 

Oh, Atlanta is a SPECIAL place to drive.
I have driven in most of the major cities in the US and a few in Europe but Atlanta is the worst.
The good thing about Atlanta traffic is that you can go like h*ll on the freeways until you get to come to a complete stop for 30 minutes.

 

I've lived here (ATL) all my life except for 5 years in FLA. I'd rather drive here, but you're right. It can be a task - lol - just keep in mind drive in full deffence with a pound of aggressiveness. Better than "Q-Tips in Caddies" that cant see.

 

I belive that last statement was directed to the fine citizens who reside in the Sunshine State. We may have some senior citizens whose eyesight is lower than Stevie Wonders. Their reflexes are like the male syrup sap flowing from the trees at -30F in Vermont. We also have our share of illegal aliens who have no license or green card.

 

I have been thru Atlanta twice wont ever do it again, I go out of my way to bypass it, in all fairness the last time I drove it the entire city was torn up in prep of the Olympics. I know that was a long time ago, but still....

 

O-Docv ..... that was the worst time ever! Georgians stayed away from ATL. With 6.5 million locals we cant deal with any extras - even as small as a mini - LOL!

Vollgas - I've seen some of the worst driving ever down in Gods waiting room. Once a Caddy pulled out on a hwy directly in fron of a loaded dump truck - 9 cars involved - all hurt except the "blues" in the Caddy.

 

But at least Atlanta has the Varsity, best onion rings in the world.

Oh, Charlotte drivers are much worse that Atlantas....

 

If I have to drive thru Atlanta I try to do it at 3:00AM as all the kooks are still sleeping. I live 100 miles So. of Atlanta where every one drives in the left lane. Speaking of Fla,, I have a theory If your a bad person in life, when you die you get sent to So. Fla. If your a really bad person, you get a SUV to drive. Just my humble opinion

 

You all are too Funny...Portlanders are over the top IDIOT Drivers, since when is going 80mph in a 55mph speed zone "legal"??!! Most of them don't even know what a 'Blinker' is, I blame it on the influx of CA Drivers!!

BTW, I think I've seen maybe 5 MIB in the last 6wks. one just last weekend was speeding through our Neighborhood!!

Atl driving just takes some time to get used to but then someone always ends up surprising you,lol.
Here in Tennessee they drive slower than snails, constantly going 10 under the speed limit and they have NO IDEA HOW TO USE A 4-WAY STOP!!!!!
