R60 Financing interest rate question
Financing interest rate question
So we test drove and put down a deposit this morning.
Since we didn't drive the 2 hours to the nearest dealer in the Cooper, we haven't done the trade-in finance stuff yet.
The spouse just bought a new Volvo at 2.9%. And asked what rate we'd be getting on the Countryman.
MA said they were only giving 2.9 on the older models not on the Countryman. Higher rates on new models. Normal?
TIA

Normal, yes... No real discounts on the CM S ALL4, unless your really good at negotiating or a repeat MINI customer.
Interest rate noted on the CM for 60+ finance was 4.59 in Colorado, not sure what is in the other regional areas.
This was MINI Financial rates for a Gold + credit rating.
I could have beat it a little by shopping credit unions or my local banks, but I wanted to establish with BMW Credit, just in case I want to buy an X6 or Paceman.

The finance guy told me the interest ranged up to 5.9. I'll see when we start talking for real. I don't expect them to go below the quote I got from the credit union, however, from past experience, they will match. Be sure to go in with a real quote.
So interesting on the wide range here. We were told "prevailing rate" which isn't much of an answer really. Credit rating is golden which will help.

Looks like MINI (aka BMW) Financial is not currently offering any subvented rates on the Countryman like they are on other models. But if your credit rating is good, the dealer Finance department should be able to offer you other non-MFS rates. One of the credit unions I belong to is currently offering rates as low as 2.9% but that wasn't as cheap as the 0.9% MFS rate I got on the JCW.
