this morning i started up my car and there is a yellow check engine light. Last night everything was fine. Not sure if it has anything to do with heavy rain and some chilly wheather? I checked the oil, seems to be fine. any ideas??? 2011 with 2705 miles.

 

What color / configuration is the light in? Read the manual inside the manual it has descriptions for all the check engine lights, theres a few.

If you want to clear the light you can disconnect the battery for a mini or so, make sure you pump the brake to discharge the electrons stored in the tail lights.

 

Gas cap not tightened?

Go to Auto Zone and have them read it.

I know with my vw gti the coolant was strange and would shrink in the cold weather and be back to normal in warm weather. Check your coolant maybe its a bit low.

 

Also was your idle bouncing up and down?

 

Had the car running for a min shut it down, check the coolAnt...looks a lil low but it was smoking a tad when I took the cap off???

Best bet, take it right back to the dealer. I had that happen on my one-day-old '07 MCS, so I know the heartache you're probably feeling right now. They can diagnose it pretty quickly.
