Possibility of a High Point run this Sunday

Depending on if Ray is around for this, Me, Ray, and Jim are interested in a little run this Sunday (Nov 28) from High Point monument to the Chatterbox for lunch.

Ray recently had to part with his green 2003 MINI due to probems with the car and both local dealerships. He now has a different make of a car which is pretty much the same thing as a MINI anyway. If anyone has a problem with a run with a different make of car involved, don't come.

Anyone else who has an interest in this subscribe to this thread so you'll get emailed updates on the thread.

I'm not sure if this is going to happen yet but I'll be sure to keep this thread updated.

I think I'm in.

Hey... Me and the new ride will make it... I'll write up here to be 100%.

And I parted with the MINI after replacing the starter, both headlamp housings, then the power steering pump and then the trans was starting to act up. Two shops and $500 just to tell me it's the transmission... well... I was suddenly done. 124,000 miles on it and I just got tired of trying to keep pumping life into her. The good looking hot girlfriend was starting to become a pain in the ***. So off it went while the thing was working on a shoestring.

I test drove the new MINI's a few times and did't like the controls and the overly-complicated interior gadgets. It lost simplicity and the steering feel my 2004 had too. Felt less responsive. Just wanted something less involved.

I pulled all the audio gear out of the MINI and traded it in for a GTI. Fast, smooth and simple.

Maybe I'll go back to a MINI when the GTI's done for... but for now, this is a very good thing.

Sounds good Ray.

Now the tricky part and I hope I don't scare anyone off, is the fact that I suck at getting up early on Sunday. I typically like to stay up late on Saturday, its my thing. So I'll post back here as to what time we would be meeting when it gets closer.

Let me put this out there, I'm not saying we're going to do this but, does anyone have a problem with meeting at High Point in the afternoon and then going to the chatterbox for dinner? I don't know if that would conflict with anyones plans.

It's going to be tougher for me to pull off a dinner thing. Also, it gets dark early and I'm not too keen about looping around in the dark. Especially since it still smells new and I just hit 1000 miles last night!

Set the alarm clock and get your *** up early chum!!!

People don't like being told if you don't like it...don't come.
