Bridgestone G 019 Grid vs Yoko AVID ENVigor

Okay, finally whittled my tire decision down to the Bridgestone G 019 Grid and the Yokohama AVID ENVigor H&V after extensive reading on Tire Rack. So everybody out there in NAM land, what's your opinion on either tire and is one better than the other? Any comments/opinions is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

The Grid 019 was on my short list, along with the Envigor, and the DWS Conti.

I eliminated the Conti because of the soft sidewalls. I eliminated the 019s because too many people I talked with told me they were noisy (but great) and I wanted quiet.

I picked the Envigor. I've got about 2K miles on them so far and I'm well pleased.

I will be getting the Envigor also on the next 60 days. I compared all 3 on tires rack, the DWS do have complaints about soft side walls. Ofthe 2 tires left I'm going with the Envigor tire, from all that I have read, it seems like the better choice for me.

Envigor's

I agree w/ Herleman. I also had the Grid 019 was on my short list, along with the Envigor, and the DWS Conti. I read the Conti's have soft sidewalls and the Grid 019 were noisy , so I opted for the Envigor's. I bought them in 215/45/17's instead of 205/45/17's so I would get the W series tire, higher speed rating (no rubbing issues with stock suspension). I have had them for 3 months and ~ 3000 miles and love them. Got to be the quietest tire I have ever owned. Love them , Quiet, Great ride, High wear rating (560) and very good handling. What more can you ask for?

To follow up.

Just to let everyone know I got the AVID ENvigors and I've found the perfect tire for me and my MINI. They seem to be quiet, grippy and excellent in the rain. I would highly reccommend to anybody. I bought 195/55-16s for my X-Lites (V-Spokes) and I'm also so glad I'm finally running on non-run flat tires. They have transformed my MINI and I'll NEVER go back to a run flat tire again.

Got the ENvigors too in 215/45/17's with NM lowering springs. Love the tires and no rubbing issues.

I got the Yoko ENvigors too in 215/45/17. They run very smooth, can't believe the difference from RFT, its like a new car - runs smooth, as for cornering no noticeable difference. One issue though - when I go over a dip in the road, at speed, I can hear the left rear tire rub a little bit in the edge..I guess I need to be careful near large dips in the road! Tires performed very well in rain and have seen no "hunting" issues on grooved roads.

If you need good winter traction go with Conti DWS. Otherwise, it sounds like the new Yoho envigors are the best choice.

I have the Envigors. Ultimate dry grip is probably not quite as good as the Bridgestones. But for my driving (normal spirited street use at sane speeds), they're more than adequate.

Curious.... I have Grids on both the MINI and Subaru and I don't hear the noise that everyone is complaining about. Personally, I like them and so does the Mrs.

That's what I hate about tire shopping. Every opinion on every tire is so subjective. I do not have an issue with tire noise on Bridgestones either. From driving cars of friends who have Bridgestones, I am of the opinion that once warmed up, Bridgestones have more grip than the Yoko Envigors. The Envigors, in my opinion, seem to have a better balance of compromises for all driving conditions.
