Amp under the seat problem?

I just got a call from the shop doing the amp install on my 2010 clubman. The say they are having difficulty fitting the Amp under the seat because there is a crossbar attached to the slider mechanism that drops down and interferes with the amp in this placement. Is anyone familiar with this and or does anyone know a work around for this problem?

Unless it was a very tall amp, my guess is that they tried to put it directly under the seat and not in the "compartment" under the seat after taking off the plastic plate.

I know I saw a thread with the size of the under seat compartment, but I've search and searched. But I can not find it :(

What size is the compartment?

Check the sticky on the R56 Thread: Post 756 in the Famously fact filled thread

However, if you get exact measurements, please post them and what model and year your MINI is. Thanks.

The styrofoam piece that came out of my 2009 MCS is roughly 13" X 10 3/8" (maybe 10 1/2"). The height down there is roughly 2 1/2" high. Of course, getting wires connected to the amp will reduce the space the amp can use.

Removing the seat will be my first time for that as well, should be pretty straight forward if I've read correctly
