Infinity Basslink with Hi-Fi

Hi guys, can you help and advise.
I have a Basslink and want to know if it's worth adding into my Clubman ?
I have the awful Hi-Fi option in the car as you know it is dire !!
Would this be a worthwhile upgrade to the sound ?
I am going to replace the front door speakers also and would appreciate what speakers to go for, I've read a few posts and it seems the Focal's are a popular option.

Thanks

I never knew the wizard used the curtain for censorship... touche`! Got my point across though, he's already responding a bit nicer, which is what the MINI Community is all about!

Back to the question at hand, I have a friend who added the basslink to his Tacoma, and it sounds just right, especially for the price. It doesn't hit hard, it doesn't boom, it adds just a touch of lower bass that was definitely missing from before.

IMHO, replacing the speakers, coupled with the basslink, will make for a nice setup that won't break the budget. Speaking of budget... Focals will definitely not be cheap, if you are willing to pony up the bucks for focals, you might as well power them right with a decent amp, and match the power to an amp and sub, rather than the basslink. Personally, I would go in steps; start with the speaker replacement and see how you like it, and then go from there. Better than doing it all at once and going cheap on this part or that part... in the long run you will be happier.

Cheers!

Noodles, Welcome to NAM!

As was mentioned if you run a search (a good practice, but not an absolute requirement), this is a topic that has a wealth of information out there already, and education on it is power in improving it; however I do hope those more familiar with the bassilink and hifi improvement will continue to be helpful, in providing you with information and links to good threads.

noodles - Are you still around? Did you ever install the Basslink in your Clubie?

Has anybody else installed Basslink in their HiFi Clubie underneath the subfloor? The dimensions on the basslink I show as 8" high - I measure about 7" from the styrofoam tool kit up to the floor panel, so laying it in there without cutting some of the styrofoam tray is out....
Wondering if I did go through the hassle of getting it mounted in there is worth it - i.e. does the basslink I have enough "omph" to power through the 2 subfloors?
