2008 R56 Must Have(s)?...

Story goes, I have $200.00 to my local Mini dealer and am very indecisive on what I would like to spend it on. I only have until September 8th before the gift card expires so I need to make my mind up soon.

So far I have been interested in the following:

Mud Flaps - (front $27.75 and rear $38.50) = $66.25
Bumper Protector for the rear = $45.90
Magnetic Stone Guard $34.95

Taking tax into consideration it will be about $160 leaving some left over...

Are there any accessories from Mini that you guys thing are a must have? Or if you have any reviews, good/bad, about my choices I'd like to know

Thanks

Sounds like just the right amount of money for the 3 oil filter package...unless you plan on following the maintenance schedule.

the magnetic stone guard is a bit dorky.

but mudflaps look nice (also more polite on a wet road) and the bumper protector at the rear 'deck' at the bottom of the hatch is a must if you ever put things in there.

Is the rear bumper guard plastic or is it a 3m like adhesive strip?

I love my mudflaps - but that is just me. I think that it makes the car look cleaner.

I, personally, dislike the stone guards. I think they look silly and they will ultimately scratch your paint.

I do love my roof rack, but then again I use it for bikes, kayaks, skis, etc. If you don't use any of this it is kind of useless.

LOVE the RUBBER matts...definitely a must have. My rear bumper is scratched horribly after only one year. Wish I had gotten the bumper cover. Do they have a rubber or vinyl piece available that you can stick on there?

If U dont have sports suspension, upgrade your rear sway bar. JCWs are pretty reasonable, and U may have to go a little over $200 to have it installed, but well worth it!

I have a new bumper guard I've been meaning to post on the marketplace for about 2 years now... It's basically a big heavy duty sticker that goes on your bumper. I think they come in black or clear. Not sure what the material is I'd have to dig mine out of the garage.

I was also considering the roof racks but I will be getting the Thule set up because my buddy can employee purchase it from his work for me and get it dirt cheap and IMO it looks much better then the mini setup

I have the factory one at home that I ordered from OutMotoring that should be getting installed this weekend. It's more like the 3M strip... wet application. It is lightly textured.

Didn't think I would at first, but I actually prefer that it's a 3M-like strip instead of a bulky piece of plastic. Much cleaner look back there.

I was lusting after Walen's **** … er, one of Walen's ***** … before I took delivery of my MCS a year and a half ago.
But as it turns out, I think I'm the only person on the planet who actually likes the stock shift ****.

I actually like the factory **** myself, my only quirk is that its light so it doesnt smooth out the clicks of gear engagement. The knew one is heavier by a good amount and gives you sweet smoothness. Both are excellent

***** are a personal thing as long as it makes you feel good get it!
