R50/53 heater core valve
Thanks. My husband and I are not mechanics in any sense of the word and we are 100 miles from the nearest Mini dealership. We just came home from an 8300 mile trip and soon afterward, the fan started running overlong and last night the temp light came on. We discovered the coolant was low and refilled that, but the fan continued to run for about 5 minutes after the engine was shut off. A post on another website suggested bleeding the valves on the upper hose and heater core. We found the bleed screw on the upper hose and opened that and air did come out. The fan stopped running and the temp light has not come again. Am I correct in understanding that there is only one bleeder valve, and that is on the upper hose?
