2010 Cab with Bluetooth with factorry Nav problems
My blackberry Storm pairs perfectly but callers can't understand me at speeds over 20mph (top up). The phone works perfectly in a BMW 323. The dealers says my system is OK. Anybody have any ideas?
IMO, compared to a 3 series (I received one as a loaner), there is a lot more road noise in the cabin. I tend to tilt my head up and lean forward a little bit when talking via bluetooth.
If you haven't already, relocate the microphone to the driver side and see if that helps. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ml#post1551485

lots more noise in the Cabrio than in a hardtop and a lot of people have complained about this issue.
Not sure about the BB Storm but many phones have adjustable volume/gain for the Bluetooth. Check on that and see if there is a volume adjustment on the phone and see if that helps, it has for some other people.
Wind noise is the worst thing that affects the call clarity. I have to turn down my fan to make calls sometimes as the center dash vent blows right toward the microphone in the hardtop and clubman.
The microphone is on the dash behind the steering wheel on the Cabrio so it is not easily move able.
Good luck.

Talking on BT in my 2010 MCc with top up, vents off, and on freeway, is really rough on listeners. Still not great once on smooth streets going slowly.
I've got an appt at dealer today for other items. Will see what the service folks recommend.
2) have the transmission checked. It engages way too hard sometimes. Other times it delays in engaging.
3) BT drops its connection and the radio comes back on. Tested with three different iPhones lying on passenger seat. When buying car I was told the BT unit is in boot area.
Will update when I get my car back and retest.
1) have the iPod/USB cable connection checked. Both connectors are loose so could be the car or cable.

The problem is that the latest "fix" of the software for the convertbles screwed up reception. Get your dealer to have BMW roll it back to the earlier version and it works liek a charm even with the top down at 40 mph!
