Windsheild question

Ok, this may be a dumb question but I don't care. And YES I did a search on Factory Windshield Tint and did not come up with what I was looking for....

Sooooooo, do European Mini's have a factory tint at the top of the windshield?

The reason I'm askin' is because we just had our '09 MCS's windshield replaced thanks to a big fat tractor trailor on I-10 throwing rocks at us. Well the replacement was an OEM after arguing that we did not want aftermarket glass. At some point we realized it did not have the light tint at the top like the original. We started thinking maybe it was because it had to be imported and maybe the Mini's across the pond don't have it. It has the Mini logo just like the original so we know it is OEM.

Just wonderin'.......

Meh if it has the logo its legit. I was thinking you were going to ask if can put tint there and I would have said yes because I have tint at the top of mine and makes a big difference.

I was just wonderin' why the replacment didn't have the factory tint at the top like most windshields. It's actually the first time I've seen a windshield without it. Maybe it's a collectible... LOL!!!

My MINI came with a perfectly clear windshield too. Left the factory Oct. 2008.

Tint is extra $$$. Mini sells both. I believe they call it green tint ?

I personally would not be able to have it though. I have enough trouble being able to see the traffic lights.

I think the glass comes greenish out of the factory. The tint at the top is to reduce glare. My MINI doesn't have it, but I have seen it on others. I don't recall seeing it as an option though...

On my second windshield from MINI in as many years.....glass is chrystal clear - at least the 1st Gen....no tint whatsoever, even when compared to side glass.

But this is how it is listed with BMW ?

Part No. 51312753978 - GREEN WINDSHIELD - 17.64LBS. - $253.77EA.
