Help with photos

I can't figure out how to reuse a photo that I have used in another thread. When i copy and past the url, it tells me that the url is invalid. How do I reuse the photo?

Second question is how do I get my photos to appear full size instead of clickable thumbnails? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Larry

Ok, so it appears you are attaching the photos, not hosting them in your NAM gallery and linking, or hosting off site and linking. That's why you're finding them as click-able files in the bottom of posts.

I'm going to test reposting 3 of your attached photos from their URL here, I'm taking the image URL an copying it then clicking the yellow mountain button above the text box and pasting the URL there.

You may also want to check out this section of the FAQs where there is more info on using the NAM gallery to host your images as well as some alternate explanations for embedding images into your posts.

Does that help?

How do I create/upload a custom avatar? I would like to use a photo of my car, but when I uploaded the Owner's badge, it deleted/overwrote the photo in my signature. Any suggestions?

Hi,

Avatar being what's next to your name and signature being what's beneath the post you would need to join the NAM Alliance if you want a custom Avatar (link to do so and more information is on the top of the Main menu at the left to of your screen.

Using a program like paint or photo shop you can add the image of the badge and the image of your car into one image then upload that image into the sig pic for your signature. The signature image program only allows one image at a time though.

Can't get photo in sig to work

I feel like a total and complete noob

I followed the rules, I tried to use the uploader but every time it says invalid URL, I tried to add it myself and it works in the preview but when I go and post it shows the code. I'm just trying to add one of the badges, nothing fancy. I tried searching for the answer but I can't find one and I didn't see photographs in sigs as a NAM benefit.

So why no photo for me?

Thanks

Ok, I just played with it a little bit and something about that URL isn't working, if uploading from your hard drive, when you click "Insert Signature Picture" does it add {SIGPIC}{/SIGPIC} code? Or is it showing {IMG}https://www.northamericanmotoring.com/gallery/data/500/image0521.jpg{/IMG}?

I tried before to add from my hard drive and I got the same error. I just now saw the message below about the enter sig pic. I hope that fixed it.

Look like it's working now

The system is a little tricky, but it makes things much easier to read, keeping the sizes and gifs from getting out of hand.

I'm a moderator over at www.Bimmerforums.com, and I have to say that the set up you guys have for photos is great. We just have the signature page and sort of expect people to know a little bit of HTML to work it out.

If I could make one suggestion though, on the instructions at the top of sig-o-matic it says "if you are using the [img ]..." you may want to add how it will process the image to the {sigpic} format and that you can copy the link below the signature box. Or something. I tried a handful of times and never noticed that if I just scrolled down all the work was done for me.
